The first test between the Pakistan and Srilanka ended in a draw on the fifth and final day in Abu dhabi on Saturday.
Set 302 for win, Pakistan finished on 158-2 with Mohammad Hafeez not out on 80 and Younis khan unbeaten on 13 at Sheikh Zayed stadium.
Earilier Sri Lanka declared their second innings on 420-5 with skipper Angelo Mathews hitting a career best 157 not out and Prasanna Jaywardana making an unbeaten 63.
The second match of the three series starts in Dubai on Wednesday.
